3D 4D Scan Malaysia

So this thingy that we're about to explore here, is something called 3D 4D scan.
I first got to know about it from me bro, Amin &Sheera as their check up is usually done in this particular format.

Googled some and found an interesting one:

From there, I found out that tech- Ms. Jezzlyn, will rotate her schedule in 3 clinics in Klang Valley (Ampang, Shah Alam and Seri Kembangan if I'm not mistaken) for the convenience of her customers to do the 3D scanning of their unborn babies. In the website, I went and clicked on an icon that says ' Online Booking'. Chose the date, time and location - and an email of confirmation will be sent to me as confirmation of the appointment.

Here's  amongst the contents of the email:

The 3D/4D Scan will be performed by a certified and well-trained
sonographer either JEZZLYN or PEARLY..
When you reach the clinic, please inform registration staff that you
have booked a 4D scan appointment with JEZZLYN or PEARLY.

SCANNING time:
For 3D/4D Scan... Each session will take about 20-30 minutes.
For details 2D + 3D/4D Scan, it will take about 40-60 minutes. PLEASE
BOOK 2 TIME SLOT FOR DETAIL in 2D+ 3D/4D scan that are available.

However its still depend on baby condition... It might reduce the
scanning time if the baby cooperate well or might increase the
scanning time if the baby don't show up the face.

Appointment booking is base on 1ST COME 1ST SERVE BASIS...
However the actual scanning time might be delayed, for example u had
booked 7.20pm as your appointment slot, you can come in between7pm to
8pm.. We apologize for any delaying and any inconvenience cause.

Procedure Charges Rate:
3D/4D Scan Charges : RM100 ( include 3D picture and video in CD and
Print Out)
Detail Scan Charges : RM150 ( Check for anomaly in 2D scan, for 20-26
weeks only! )
3D/4D Scan + Detail Scan Package : RM200
2D scan : RM50 ( only for ampang and seri kembangan area)

Suggested week for 3D/4D Scanning:

1st scan: (22-25 weeks):
See more baby movement, might scan the whole baby body, can see more
in hand and legs movement, but the baby might look skinny a bit, but
its already cute!

2nd scan: ( 26-30 weeks):
More on baby face as the baby look more cubby, but leg and hand scan
depend on the liquid enough or not....

(30-35weeks):
Harder to scan depend on air ketuban only.. The chances to take a bit
low compare to less than 30wk, but the baby will look more cubby...
if cant see the baby face, there is no charges apply, so might can
have a try....FOR Seri kembangan and AMPANG area only

These are the LIMITATION of the Scan to get a nice BABY FACE:

(1) Amniotic fluid (air ketuban) must be enough for the scan where at
least a layer of water in front of the baby face, must have a space
on top of the baby face.

(2 ) No umbilical cord (tali pusat) or placenta block on top of the
baby to get a nice view of the baby face.

(3) Baby position, baby could not be looking downward or side view.
In order to get baby full face, baby must be facing up and not facing
down or side way.

(4) fat layer of the mother tummy aso will affected the scan.... The
thicker the abdominal layer, tbe harder the penetration of the
ultrasound.

Day of appoinment : 

This is how we first saw Baby Z

and then Jazzlyn, changed the setting to 3D mode

as you can see, the umbilical cord and her feet is covering her face

we tried to wake her up and getting her to move her position a bit (by gently shaking my tummy - tapi syioknya dia tidur sampai buat tak layan je kat kita.. heh).

Finally after couple of minutes, Baby Z gerak sikit.

Her foot tetap juga in acrobat move, but Alhamdulillah, we managed to get a better picture as she moved the umbilical cord down a bit..

Woke up today to a message from ekeen saying, "nah, lagu mak untuk anak2"

... owh don't worry mak, we'll always be your little misfits =)

tick..tick..tick..done.

Being a new mother now is different from when my mom was a new mother, and for my mother- it was different for her, from the time when her mother was a new mother too.

I remember when Ajoi and I first walked into the baby store. we were utterly ... lost.

I didn't quite know what that little blue buttons are for on the baby crib, or why do we need a sterilizer when I remember quite clearly how my mother used to soak the baby bottles and teats in steaming hot water in order to get them germs free. 

There was also this little clip that you can unbutton on your bras while magically turns them into a 'nursing bra'. it ranges from normal nursing bras, to sleeping nursing bras, wired nursing bras, non-wired nursing bras and day-use nursing bras. lets not forget, a special rack for you to dry your babies' bottles and accessories so they wont get mixed up with adult's dishes. 

hey, a rubber fish looking thermometer that u can put into the bathing tub or a glass milk bottle that automatically turns green are just the right tools to indicate new parents that the temperature may be a tad bit hot for their precious little ones.

baby audio monitors, nanny cams, nursery organizers, changing stations, 10 different types or teats, 10 different categories for baby feeding bottles, nappy rash cream for 5 skin types and of course, the nipple balms... owh, don't get me started. heh

Cloth diapers, pampers, swaddling blanket, handkerchief, wash cloths, towel and hooded blanket. every single task, has an item that is designed especially for its purpose, hence the demise of your good ol' napkins.

Do you know that one of the docs at the antenatal class.. yes, we do have antenatal classes now, (you can check out Colombia Hospital at Setapak. my sister in law told me that they are offering free antenatal classes at the moment, as they are trying to penetrate the baby market. apparently mommies giving births are steadier incomes than men with cancers.) Anyways, the doc told everyone to get their hands on a 'Coleman' - you know that travel friendly containers that you bring along to picnics. that should keep your extracted breast-milk in a decent temperature while waiting for it to be kept in the freezer at home. Well heads up doc, that is not quite right!

we are suppose to get ourselves the electronic breast pumps, as manual ones are considered to be too time consuming and may lead to cramping due to the long process of pumping, each time. even better if you have a double headed breast pumps as you can extract from both your right and left side of the breasts concurrently. when we are done extracting the milk, we can choose to store it directly into the bottles- but be wary as it is advisable to get the 'BPA free' bottle so that your baby will get the full nutrient from the expressed breast milk. yup, that is what the magazines and the lactating counselor taught us... oh yes, did i forget to tell you about her? well, she will teach you the correct ways to massage your breast, accessories needed and all techniques involved in order to have a 'meaningful mommy and baby bonding experience'. 

her favorite quote would be, "pernahkah kambing meminta lembu untuk menyusukan anaknya? tak pernah kan? jadi why do we need the cows to feed our babies when God made us able to feed the babies ourselves. so try not to use powdered milk. breastfeed your babies. its the nature of life. kembalilah kepada fitrah yang sebenar! remember, when there is demand, then there will be supply. feed them as long as they needed to be fed". wwwwooooooooo, so stressed right? haha.

back to the storage system. if you don't wanna use the bottles, you can also use the reusable or disposable plastic bags designed especially to store your breast-milks. get yourself some icepacks that you freeze for eight hours beforehand, put it in you nursing travel bag together with the breast-milks, as this will ensure that your extracted breast-milks will be kept in the right temperature for up-to 12 hours. this is the time-frame that you have to get yourself home and keep the milks inside the freezer. 

when you need use the breast-milks; for days that your baby will want to drink more than they usually do or when you are at work and your baby is at home. Or come times when your breast are 'bengkak' and direct feeding may be too painful to endure, or when you are just too exhausted to wake up in the middle of the night- then hubby dearest, your nanny or anyone around you may use the steamer (yup, there's a gadget called the steamer) to heat up the milk to the right temperature and just feed the baby..phew~

these are just some examples of things that you will find in the baby store. so you see. time has changed- and no one told us about it. my mom said, nowadays there are just that many choices. there is nothing wrong about using it to your advantage or if you prefer to have it they way that your moms or grandmoms used to do it. this is only the beginning.

its your time, your family, your ways, your choice. 

i guess, starting a family of your own is full of learning new things, new exposures, new techniques, new gadget and latest updates and that... will never change - for as long as time permits us to be here.

Breathe in, breathe out. God help us all. hehe.

runaway train, never goin' back

We went on a little adventure recently.

It was one of those days, that makes you think, to be indoors- surrounded by four walls, would be an epic waste of time and opportunity. So off we go...

First thing's first, I was very surprised at how efficient the lrt really is. Kejap je tunggu, 2 minutes kot keretapi dah sampai. As we stepped in, a lady tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to have a seat. So this mak buyong duduk la dengan tetamu-tetamu kehormat yang lain which were, org buta and an elderly couple. Its nice to know kita masih belum hilang nilai-nilai ketimuran itu. However, since it was just one stop away, big boss berdiri je la.. Tak kuasa pun dia nak sibuk-sibuk cari tempat duduk jugak. Mungkin rezeki kita hari tu, takde pulak nampak budak-budak muda or orang-orang yang sangat berupaya- tapi masih nak gatal degil tak mahu bagi seat pada yang lebih memerlukan.

Our destination.. Pasar Seni or Central Market. 

Jakunnya aku bila discover it has already been fully air conditioned. Mesti tourist semua suka. (And I say that because memang ramai tourist pun kat situ). But the irony is, I am too- a tourist in my own country. 

When was the last time we were there? 

Hmmmm, zaman sekolah dulu kot.. Probably a couple of decades back.

And hey, things there are not cheap hokay!! Tapi aku shopping jugak. Dah barang cantik-cantik.. Agak-agak la, kalau barang tu orang bali ke, org putih ke, org jepun, org french, org kashmir ke yang buat, taruk harga letop-letops pun, boleh pulak kita membeli sakan! Berpuluh ribu-ribans terkorban pun tak rasa salah juga. So, apalah setakat kain batik RM30 org Malaysia yang buat? Painting-painting pun cantik-cantik wey..

All in all, I think we spent about RM 200 on some pretty neat stuff. Our sumbangan back to perindustrian Malaysia. Sebab kalau pergi Ikea pun, RM200 is kira celah gigi le jugok.. and please don't try to deny this fact. Ikea tu aku rasa confirm membela toyol sepuluh ekor. Semua benda rasa cantik, semua benda rasa nak beli! Last-last terbabas jugak.. heh.

Anyways, kipas tangan ala nyonya that I bought tu is dem sexy, kaler hitam lagi! RM5. Memang confirm lepas ni, mak buyong lepas beranak akan dress up jadi Madam Butterfly..eceeh. =p

Big Boss beli shirt batik buatan tangan, 1 piece per design. Memang berbaloi, abang kedai tu taruk harga RM90.00 but gave to us for RM60.00 coz I also bought myself kaftan tidur and a lovely blue handkerchief.

We also managed to bring back some coasters, placemats and ntah apa-apa lagi ntah. Sebab benda-benda tu semua, masih belum keluar dari beg nya lagi.. hehe. Pasal tu tak berapa nak ingat apa yang dibeli.
Had pretty good fun over there anyways! =)

Owh, and another thing also caught our eyes, was this super exquisite Grandfather Clock. Kedai tu ada dalam empat design ranging from RM25,000 - RM45,000. Then big Boss kata that would be a gift to ourselves when we become Atoks nanti.

"OK, sayang. I sure am looking forward to that day." Kata hati kecil ku.

(ending style sundance- where there's a little tak puas dengan ending cerita tu. hehe.)
